INTRODUCTION (SPOILERS ALERT)

-17776 is a serialized multimedia story made by Jon Bois. It follows three sentient space probes as they watch over Earth in the year 17776, where humanity became immortal and all they do is play football. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's emotional, and that's what made this story great.
-In the time between, humanity fixed everything that needed to be fixed and solved everything that needed to be solved. They even created nanoparticles that prevents them from being injured and hurted. However, immortality is not a perfect gift after all. In 17776, the only thing people have to fight is the boredom that they feel every single day. So what did they do? Invented bizarre football games with ridiculously complicated rules? That's what happened in America.
“.the point of play is to distract yourself from play being the point.” -Juice
-My favorite guy is Ed Krieger from Louisville - a safety in a long-distance football game between Louisville and Charlotte. One day, a missionary found out that he hid inside a cave for 9,313 years with a ball still in play because of this...rule...:
"It said, basically, if you get possession of the ball and stay in your own end zone for 10,000 years without being tackled, it's an automatic win for you, game over."
-So, he found a cave he used to play near as a child and thought maybe that's a good hiding place. He's right. For 9,313 years, no one ever found him. Kids would be the only people to go to places like this, but the thing is, the kids are not there anymore. All of them grew up and became immortal adults.
-Why do you think he did all of this just for a win? Staying inside a small and uncomfortable cave for 9,313 years? Is this game that important to him? Well, actually, that's not the point. All he did was following an objective. In a world that is no longer interesting, that objective kept him going.
-My favorite sentence from this part is definitely the missionary's words at the end of this chapter:
And then I think, "maybe I am in Heaven, and Heaven is scary."
-That's how I would describe Earth in 17776 too.
MEET THE CAST
NINE (PIONEER 9)
The last space probe to gain sentience. Was launched in 1968 by NASA. Originally meant for studying positive ions and electrons in solar wind, they now spend their time "perpetually hanging out" with Ten and Juice.
TEN (PIONEER 10)
A space probe that gained sentience. Pioneer 9's small "sister", although she in fact "woke up" way sooner before Pioneer 9 did, so she's also a big sister sometimes. She was the one guiding Nine so that they can use quantum communication. Was launched in 1972 by NASA. Ten is said to have began observing Earth sometime before the perfection of the nanoparticle network (3500s).
JUICE (Jupiter ICy Moons Explorer)
A space probe thai gained sentience. Was launched in 2022 by ESA which made him French (although in real life Juice was launched in 2023). He was made for studying Jupiter's moons Ganymede, Callisto, and Europa. Juice is said to have began observing Earth sometime between the beginning of Game 27 (2080s or 2090s) and the perfection of the nanoparticle network (3500s).
HUBBLE
A space telescope that gained sentience. Originally meant to take photographs of outer space, he now spends his time watching football. Also he has 5 lines in total (he's my favorite characters regardless).
